Mason Square Museum adds Courthouse Artifacts to New Exhibit

The Mason Square Museum is pleased to announce the addition of two Courthouse artifacts to the Mason Courthouse Exhibit, now on display. Following the auction at the Larry Gatlin Fundraiser performance on Saturday, two items from the former courthouse will now be added to the exhibit.

David and Marie Beavers purchased an ironwork piece that formerly held the gearworks of the clock on the cupola. Ken Jordan and Ted Smith purchased to gear wheel of the clock. Both of these items are now on display at the Mason Square Museum. The Museum is grateful to the generosity of these new owners of the courthouse artifacts, who have magnanimously consented to placing them in the exhibit.

The clockworks were originally constructed and installed by the notable E. Howard & Company in 1909 when the present courthouse was constructed. These pieces were restored by Jacob Renner of TransCon Welding.

The public is cordially invited to visit the display any Friday or Saturday at the Mason Square Museum. The Museum is open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. We hope to see you all at the Museum to follow the storied history of the Mason County Courthouse and to add your favorite photo of the courthouse to the exhibit.
