Music Club announces next season’s concerts

Opening with a concert pianist performance by the Gold Medalist from the 2025 Van Cliburn Competition, the Fredericksburg Music Club is celebrating its 90th anniversary this coming season for Texas Hill Country area residents with eight monthly concerts that range from classical piano and string music to more contemporary vocal and brass performances.

Normally set to begin at 3 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month in the sanctuary of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 North Llano, the 2026-2027 season’s programs will run from September through May.

Featured on this season’s program will be: Aristo Sham, Classical Pianist – Winner of the 2025 Van Cliburn Competition’s Gold Medalist award, Sham has been recognized for exuding “astounding intellect and a deep emotional resonance; a cultivated sophistication and an immediately engaging presence; a penchant to take on the great monuments of the piano repertoire, and a natural, infectious spontaneity.” (Sept. 20, 2026) Alias Brass – Founded in 2013, Alias Brass is a collaboration of five artists and educators from across the nation who offer original compositions, with concepts that blend virtuosic musicianship with a high level of entertainment. (Oct. 18, 2026) Rob Landes, Pianist – A native Houstonian who began studying piano at age three and made his “debut” on the Art Linkletter House Party program at age four, Landes has performed across the U.S., Canada and many countries in Europe. He is also widely known as an organist, harpist, arranger, conductor and published composer. (Nov. 15, 2026) Take 3, Violin-Cello-Piano – With a flair for the “wild and unexpected”, the genre-defying trio brings the infusion of a rigorous classical music background with rock-star charisma. Trained at some of the world’s top con-servatories, Take 3 members have expanded their repertoire from Bach and Beethoven to Bieber and The Beach Boys. (Jan. 17, 2027) Glenn Miller Orchestra – Following in the footsteps of one of the greatest bands of all time, the present Glenn Miller Orchestra, founded in 1956, has been performing its unique big band jazz sound worldwide for both concert and swing dance engagements. (Feb. 21, 2027) WindSync – Woodwind Quintet – A vibrant wind quintet with a fresh take on traditional wind music, WindSync covers classical, familiar and newly commissioned pieces – all aiming to share captivating stories from music history and human experiences. (March 21, 2027) Joseph and Sue – Pianist and Vocalist – Joseph Martin has performed piano recitals and been the featured artist with symphony orchestras in the U.S. and Mexico, while Sue Martin has sung for millions at the Epcot Center. (April 18, 2027) The Moanin’ Frogs – Six Saxophones – Cited for “blazing fearlessly through jazz, pop, classical and everything in between with jaw-dropping skill and a mischievous sense of fun” the award-winning Moanin’ Frogs sextet is known for delivering a performance that’s touted to be “equal parts talent and hilarious entertainment”. (May 16, 2027) Attendance at FMC concerts is free of charge, thanks to grants as well as private and corporate donations received through the mail or at the door of each performance.
