Driving around town, I noticed some signs in different places. Sometimes they are in someone’s front yard or maybe down the block at the street corner. I haven’t noticed any in vacant lots, but I have noticed a good number in front of different churches.
Yes, it is Vacation Bible School time! Also, it is time for the Christian Summer Camps. I personally think it is one the greatest things we can do for our children or grandchildren or any child. Maybe we do not have any children close, but you know we can sponsor one or more and most importantly we can pray for those summer camps and Vacation Bible Schools.
Something I remember when I first became a Christian, I volunteered to help in Vacation Bible School. I got to help make the Kool-Aid and serve it. My wife and other women from the church would make homemade cookies, and I served them. Looking back over my life, I remember my mother reading Bible stories to us when we were young. We also spent the summers with our grandparents and my grandmother faithfully taking us to vacation bible school. It was there that I learned about God and how He loved me and sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for my sins, (John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:8, 9, John 1:12).
Accepting Jesus Christ has made all the difference in my life. See you in Church next Sunday.
