Patsy Nell Shahan

Patsy Nell Schneider Shahan, at the age of 90, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, in San Saba. After living a full life, Patsy Nell will be reunited in heaven with the love of her life and husband of 66 years, Roy Shahan. Patsy was born September 16, 1931, in San Saba County. She grew up in San Saba with her sisters, Wanda and Laurine, and her brother, Carey Schneider. She met Roy Shahan in 1948 when he returned from the war. They married in 1949 and started Shahan Auto Parts with Roy’s brother, Jimmie. It is now owned and operated by her sons, Floyd and Johnie. She was a member of Pecan Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship for 72 years. In the earlier years, she provided and cooked the meat (her version of Billy Davidson’s BBQ) for the dinners at the summer revivals and homecomings. After raising her five children, she made trips with Roy on his annual hunting excursions to Colorado. She hosted backyard cookouts with fish fries and barbecues for her family and their friends. Patsy was very talented with her sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. Patsy also enjoyed playing golf when the San Saba Course was being built for the first nine holes. She had boundless and unconditional love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

Patsy is survived by her children: son, Mike and friend Sherri Drake of San Saba; Teresa Sanderson of San Saba; Craig and wife Susie of Hondo, Texas; Floyd and wife Billie of Lometa; Johnie and friend Bettye Robinson of San Saba; grandchildren: Sheri Loika of San Saba; Steven Shahan of Brownwood; Shannon Barton of Rhome, Texas; Zane Shahan of Corpus Christi, Texas; Lacy McCandless of Round Rock, Texas; Josh Shahan of Lampasas; Ryan Shahan of Lampasas; great-grandchildren: Kage Loika, Kynison Loika, Noah Shahan, Kaiden Shahan, Vincent Shahan, Henry Shahan, Waylon Barton and Wyatt Barton of Rhome, Texas; one sister, Wanda Ray of Austin, Texas; one sister-in-law, Adriane Shahan of San Saba; along with numerous nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vada B. Schneider; father, Loy A. Schneider; sister, Laurine Everett; and brother, Carey Gene Schneider.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba with Pastor Pat Riley officiating. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. Interment to follow at Harris Cemetery, San Saba County.
