A word from Ms. Hardy: "Please be conscious of everything you do outside that could cause a fire."
The San Saba Commissioners’ Court met for a regular meeting on Monday, May 9th, in the Commissioners’ Courtroom. Judge Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Commissioner Kroll gave the invocation and led everyone in the pledges to the American flag and the Texas flag.
Audience for Concerned Citizens For Public Comment:
Ms. Hardy gave an update on a fire that had burned 427 acres; she said it was totally contained. It is believed to have been started by an electrical short. She noted that someone from the Texas Forest Service said San Saba was the driest county in Texas. The Judge asked her to research to see what they could to do to declare a more restricting burn ban. This would be a short ban and would limit all outdoor burning during our time of drought. There was discussion on how dangerous our current situation is with the lack of rain.
Ms. Hardy noted there were 29 units of blood sent in from our recent blood drive in town.
