Community Job Fair deemed a success by Chamber of Commerce

Regina Baker, Executive Director of San Saba County Chamber of Commerce, stated she was so pleased with the results of the Chamber-sponsored Community Job Fair. The Job Fair was held Tuesday, May 3rd, in the event rental center at 122 South Cherokee Street.

To prepare for the Job Fair, Ms. Baker ensured table placement for all participating employers. Even those employers who could not be physically present at the Fair had assigned tables for their job description, applications, and any "treats," such as water, candy mints, etc.

Ms. Baker said 16 employers connected with approximately 20 potential employees. Four out of the 16 employers were state agencies. In conjunction with the Job Fair, a Texas Workforce Commission representative was present for attendee assistance with job searches and consulting as needed.

According to the Chamber's Executive Director, the overall response to the Job Fair, both by employers and potential employees, was solid for San Saba County. This experience was positive for all who participated and attended and warrants another event next year, and hopefully on an annual basis, stated Ms. Baker.
