Ira Whitley Cahoon

Ira W. Cahoon, age 71, of San Saba, Texas, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 1, 2022. Ira was born in San Saba, Texas, to Horace W. Cahoon and Dorothy (Pafford). Ira worked at the San Saba County Courthouse in maintenance until his retirement. He did landscape and mowing in San Saba for the public while enjoying the outdoors for most of his life. Ira also did odd jobs and loved being around people. Ira was the life of the party and could always entertain a crowded room.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Geneva Cahoon; three daughters: Erica Martinez and husband Javier, Krystal Smith and husband Joshua, and Stacy Haynes and husband Tobby Wilson; one sister, Dorothy McKendry; son, Greg Cahoon; one niece, Lisa Bruchs; grandchildren: Nicole Early, Jimmah Schmidt, Brooklin Cahoon, Jaelin Cahoon, Bentlee Smith, James Hooten, D’Markus Haynes and Tanaya Wilson; and numerous cousins and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Visitation was held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 1:00-1:45 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba, Texas. A Graveside Service followed on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Wallace Creek Cemetery with Tom Brand officiating at 2:00 p.m. Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba in charge of arrangements.
