Today, I am reflecting on my trip to San Saba last week. My home away from home was at the Van Gorp's; transportation from and to the airport by Marlene; a visit to The San Saba News; helping clean my house for sale was Marsha, Karen, Mirla, Ross & Kelly; Edward and the Betancourt's transported items for me; Marsha took items to Shared Blessings; I reported on and attended Hunting with Soldiers; visited dear friend Margie; out to eat with Marsha, Winfield and Audrey; attended an awesome service at The Fathers House. I thank God for His protection, guidance and help. I took one of Larry's pocket knife's to give to Armando in my carry-on suitcase, and it was detected and could have been taken. However, the man that was searching for the knife saw my anguish and tears and heard my explanation. After checking and getting my information, he personally put the pocket knife back in my suitcase and took it to be put on the plane.
My flight went to Chicago (very cold there), and I was wondering if my suitcase was going on board there. I got a seat by the window and could not believe it when I looked out the window and saw my purple suitcase going up a ramp onto the plane! Glory to God!
It is a Winter Wonder Land here in Zanesville, Ohio, 21 degrees, eight inches of snow and windy. My chocolate Labrador Ellie is very confused and did not 'go' when I took her out the garage door where the snow had been plowed-but no grass! So I shoveled snow off the grass in front of my condo, but she still did not 'go.' This sure ain't Texas!
I am scheduled to do a program at the Primrose Retirement Community tomorrow. It is located a short distance down the road from where I live. Even though many events and businesses are closed, I don't think it will be canceled. But I will check before I go there.
After church yesterday afternoon, I invited my neighbor Bernice to come see my condo and Christmas decorations. She is 90 years old and used a pronged cane, so when it started snowing, she needed to go home. I enjoyed her visit and gave her some vegetable soup I made that will taste good this snowy season.
The paraphrased The Living Bible: Matthew 6:31-34.... Jesus spoke: “So don't worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to. So don't be anxious about tomorrow, God will take care of your tomorrow, too. Live one day at a time.”
