USDA to distribute $558M in funding to boost rural infrastructure in Texas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $558 million to build and improve critical rural infrastructure in Texas.

These investments will help expand access to high-speed internet, clean water, and reliable electricity in homes and businesses across rural Texas.

Projects in Texas include the following - partial list only:

• Richland Springs will use $3.7 million in financial assistance from the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program to replace the original 1915 pipeline with new pipe. The new PVC pipe will bring the water loss down to a reasonable level. Approximately 30 fire hydrants will be replaced.

The funding is part of 359 investments that USDA is making in seven programs across the U.S.
