Message from Dr. Craig Whiting:

The TDEM (Texas Department of Emergency Management) is bringing a vaccination brigade to the San Saba Civic Center on Thursday, November 18th, and Thursday, December 16th. If you have not had any vaccine or booster shot up to now, then do consider coming to the Civic Center and receive a vaccine on one of those dates. They should have both Pfizer and Moderna available, and possibly Janssen. Please note that vaccines will only be available for those 12-years-old and older.

The clinics are planned from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will find a link at the newspaper’s website or San Saba County site on Facebook to register for vaccines/boosters. Or, you can call Marsha Hardy (325-372-8570) to register. Registration is not necessary, but does allow us to plan how many vaccine doses to request.

Everett’s Pharmacy has Moderna vaccine on hand now and is offering vaccinations from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Fridays. They are hoping to receive a supply of Janssen vaccine in the future. There is no cost for any COVID vaccination.

As a reminder, there is free COVID testing now available at the EMS barn from 10:00 AM to noon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (no appointment needed) and at the new MidCoast Well Care Clinic from 1:00 to 4:45 PM Monday through Friday (appointment required, call 936-307-0763).
