Joretta Price

Joretta Price was born on March 14, 1931 in Eastland, Texas to Jesse Clay Hensley and Gladys Model Morton Hensley. She was the oldest of nine children. Joretta moved to Wink, Texas in 1932 and grew up there. She and her husband, William ‘Bill’ Price, lived in Odessa and Midland for a number of years. She drove a school bus for special needs children and operated a picture framing shop for some time before retiring and moving to their home on the Colorado River in San Saba.

Joretta wrote the Bend News for the San Saba newspaper while here and she and her husband were the Ombudsmen for the nursing homes in San Saba for over 15 years. Bill passed away and Joretta continued to visit the nursing homes until 2018.

Joretta is preceded in death by her husband, William; sons, Tommy Aycock and William Gary Price; parents, Jesse and Gladys; sister, Lila Rae Wilson; and brothers, J.T. Hensley and Bob Hensley.

She is survived by adopted son, Robert William Price and his wife, Spring; two grandchildren, Haley and William Price; brothers: Jerry Don Hensley and wife, Neal; and Larry Max Hensley and wife, Donna; two granddaughters, four grandsons, and numerous great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation for Ms. Price at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba on October 20, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., with a graveside service on October 21st at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Midland, Texas.
