Joe M. Almaguer, 95, Deer Park, was born July 8, 1926, in Algerita, Texas, under an oak tree in the cotton fields of Central Texas, delivered by his grandmother, and passed away on September 23, 2021, at HCA Southeast Hospital in Pasadena. He was raised in San Saba, Texas, and worked on the farm to help support his family. In 1958, he moved to Odessa, Texas, to work in the Oil Fields as a truck driver and retired in 1992.
He is preceded in death by his wife who passed away in 1995, Maria Almaguer; his parents, Jesus and Leonor (Esquivel) Almaguer; and his two brothers, Ruben and John.
Joe is survived by his son, Dr. Ruben Almaguer and wife, Denise, whom he has lived with for the past 26 years after the passing of his wife; his daughter, Mary and husband, Willie; son, Sammie Almaguer; son, Joe Almaguer, Jr. and wife, Martha; son, Danny Almaguer and wife, Myrna; son, John Almaguer; 14 grandchildren: Ruben, Sarah, Steven, Rebekah, David, Eva, Geena, Laura, Brianna, Joey, Bailey, Eric, Myranda, and Amanda; along with three great-grandchildren: Lillian, Mia, and Christian, and his brother, Manuel, and Al Almaguer.
Serving as pallbearers: Joey, Ruben, Steven, Eric, David, and Daniel.
