It started at 7:46 a.m. CDT, a day we should never forget. A day of great sacrifice when many worked to the point of exhaustion and beyond to rescue and help others. It was incredible to see the response of the thousands of volunteers who came forward to help. I firmly believe that if we could ask them, they would be willing to do it again.
As I look back on my life, there have been many people who have helped me along the way. My parents, grandparents, teachers and a host of others cared for my well-being. I also recall my mother reading the Bible to me at an early age and my grandmother taking me and my brother to Sunday school and Church and the Sunday school teachers and the young couple who did special things for the youth group I was in.
I am especially thankful for the man who came out to my house, shared Jesus Christ with me, and helped me to ask God to forgive my sins and call upon Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, (Romans 3:23, 6:23, John 1:12). I think it is good to look back, remember and thank God for those that have had such an important part in our lives. I also keep in mind how Jesus died for me and how much God loves me, (John 3:16, Romans 5:8). See you in Church next Sunday.
