Jewel Warren

Jewel Warren went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in San Saba. She was born to Robert Lee and Roslee (Watson) Ewell on March 28, 1930, in Shepherd, Texas, later moving with her family to Conroe, Texas. She married J. W. Warren on November 18, 1949, in Conroe. She worked for the Ford dealership in Conroe and later worked as secretary for the Conroe Church of Christ and as bookkeeper for Newton Properties.

However, the most important role she had was that of Christian wife and mother who always served and sacrificed for her family and friends. Jewel was a faithful member of the Church of Christ for over 70 years, always putting the Lord first in all that she did. She was an avid sports fan, following baseball and football, and she and J. W. loved camping with family and friends. She was an excellent cook, and one of her greatest joys was preparing meals for family, friends and those in need.

She is survived by her son, John Warren and wife, Sherry, of Grand Prairie; and daughter, Elizabeth (Liz) Haug and husband, Leif, of San Saba; six grandchildren: Shellie Vorland and husband, Ryan; Kristen Millican and husband, Winston; Eric Ward and wife, Sara; Kelly McKinnerney and husband, Regan; Leslie Haug; and Luke Haug and wife, Sarah; six great-grandchildren: Anna, Abby, Allison Millican, Ian, Rachel McKinnerney, and Joy Haug.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J. W., parents, Robert Lee and Roslee Ewell, and brother, Robert S. Ewell, Sr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Solaris Hospice or Cherokee Home for Children.
