Hillard Burns Rodgers

On Saturday, March 27th, 2021, surrounded by family, Hillard Burns Rodgers of San Saba, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Hillard was born on June 20th of 1933 to Henry B. Royster Rodgers and Ethel Viola Lindsey Rodgers. In September of 1950, and at 17 tender years of age, he found himself aboard an LST as he began his two tours of combat duty attached to the Marine division. He then began his crash course directly into manhood, serving two stents of combat in the conflict.

Hillard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ethel Viola and Henry Royster Rodgers; brother, David Rodgers, and twin brothers, Glen and Lynn; his precious cousin, Soundra Gierlich; and cousin, Jim Lindsey.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Ruth Ann Rodgers; daughter, Kathy Lynette Molina and husband Jose of Baycliff, Texas; sons: Bobby Don of Austin, Boyd and wife Grace of Texas City, Texas, and Kevin Hanna and Alex of Austin; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, cousins: Petie and Tommy Bouchamp, Becky and Allen Hawkins of California, Rick Lindsey and wife Pat of Texas City, Texas, and Karen Jaynes of Kingsport, Tennessee; as well as Arbry Jr. Lindsey of Texas City, Texas, and wife Renee, and Brenda Wood of Tennessee.

There will be a viewing at 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Blaylock Funeral Home and a graveside service on Thursday at the Hanna Cemetery in Cherokee, Texas, with Boyd Hanna officiating.
