Connie Hidalgo, 70, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020, in Austin, Texas. She was born in Athens, Ohio, to Raymond and Gertrude (Ferrell) Welch on June 27, 1950. Connie married Felipe Hidalgo on May 8, 1981, in Austin, Texas.
She was a resident of Travis County for 40 plus years. Connie loved gardening. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Gertrude Welch; one brother, Kenny Welch; and two sisters, Rosalie Swinehart and Helen Bowling.
Connie is survived by her husband, Felipe Hidalgo of Austin, Texas; two sons, Tim Bethel and wife Kelly of West Lafayette, Ohio, and Chad Bethel of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Melinda Eltgroth of Austin, Texas, and Regina Baker and husband Bill of San Saba; six sisters, Marlene Williams of Athens, Ohio, Dorothy Weaver of Middleton, Ohio, Carolyn Thomas of San Diego, California, Linda Calcott of Burnet, Texas, Janet Potter of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Kathy Crooks of Lockhart, Texas; six grandchildren, Damion Eltgroth, Geoffrey Eltgroth, Sierra Eltgroth, Colton Bethel, Matthew Garcia, and Chad Bethel, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba with the Pastor Andy Barclay officiating. Burial will be at Wallace Creek Cemetery in San Saba.
