Saul Cervantes, 62, of San Saba, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Mexico to Moises and Ambrosia Cervantes on November 17,1957.

Saul worked in several restaurants as a cook and in construction. He lived in San Saba for over 35 years of his life. Saul was a strongwilled man who never knew a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an amazing father and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Saul loved roping, bull riding, and boxing. He will be truly missed by all those who knew him.

Saul is preceded in death by his brother, Jose Jaime Cervantes. Saul is survived by daughters: Rebecca Monington and husband, Wesley Monington, of San Angelo, Texas; Veronica Ibarra and husband, Miguel Ibarra, of San Angelo, Texas; brothers: Jose Cervantes and wife, Estella, of San Saba, Texas; Jose Antonio Cervantes and wife, Maria Elena, of San Saba, Texas; Igancio Cervantes and wife, Maria, of San Saba, Texas; Eliseo Cervantes and wife, Lilia, of San Saba ,Texas; Moises Cervantes and wife, Maria, of Florida; sisters: Rosa Montoya and husband, Ernesto Montoya, of San Saba, Texas; Emelia Cervantes and husband, Santiago Cervantes, of San Angelo, Texas; Estela Cervantes and husband, Jose Canedo, of San Saba, Texas; parents: Moises Cervantes of Mexico and Ambrosia Rojas of San Saba, Texas; grandchildren: Adrianna Ybarra, Miguel Rodriguez, Lillianna Ybarra and Madilynn Ibarra; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at Heritage Funeral home in San Saba, Texas. Rosary was Tuesday, July 14,2020, at 7 p.m.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba, Texas, with Father Javier Toscano officiating. Interment followed at San Saba City Cemetery in San Saba.

Pallbearers: Jose Cervantes, Jose Antonio Cervantes, Ignacio Cervantes, Moises Cervantes, Eliseo Cervantes and Eddie Montoya.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba.
