It is time again to apply for a Hill Country CattleWomen scholarship. If you have a junior or senior student who is attending a Texas college or university, have them visit their website at: http://www. hillcountrycattlewomen.com/. Students can download the application. All majors can apply, applicants are not restricted to Agricultural majors. Additionally, HCCW is awarding a Trade school scholarship for graduating seniors. This scholarship can include a large variety of trade schools, such as welding, electrician, nursing, catering, etc.
University applicants must have accumulated at least 60 credit hours, have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 or greater. Be sure to include a sealed official transcript from this spring’s semester.
All applicants must reside in one of the 14 counties in the Hill Country CattleWomen district. These counties include Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Edwards, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Real and San Saba.
Scholarships are open to both females and males. All university majors will be eligible though agricultural degrees may be prioritized. Trade school applicants are subject to the same criteria excepting of course the 60 credit hours. Trade schools could include accredited Welding, Electrical, Plumbing, Culinary Schools to name but a few.
Hill Country CattleWomen have raised and awarded $87,000 in scholarship monies in the past 3 years to 26 recipients. Amounts vary from year to year based on fundraising efforts and the generous contributions of local businesses.
