Planning for the future is an important part of preparing for adulthood. Recently, senior girls at Cherokee Home for Children traveled to Stephenville to explore college opportunities and learn more about the options available to them after high school.

During their visits, the girls toured Ranger College and explored its cosmetology program, as well as Tarleton State University. These visits gave them an opportunity to learn more about different educational paths as they consider their goals and begin making decisions about their futures.

Helping young adults prepare for independence is a key part of Cherokee Home’s Transitional Living Program. Through activities and experiences like these college visits, students are encouraged to explore their interests, consider their options, set goals, and take steps toward life after graduation.

The Transitional Living Program is made possible in part through the generosity of those who supported the Richard W. Zipp Transitional Living Center building project. Cherokee Home for Children is grateful to these supporters for helping provide opportunities that equip young adults with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue their next chapter.
