Our boys had another halftime win against Gustine last Friday. If you didn’t get to hear the game, Jason Lewis has a live broadcast on You Tube. Go to You Tube and subscribe to Richland Springs Eye-Witness. That way you can listen to a live broadcast. Most of our games are away this year. That means many of our older crowd won’t travel. Tune in and support our boys. Their next game is Friday against May at May. The junior high will play May on Thursday.

Our coaches are keeping our volleyball girls busy. They have three games this week. They are improving weekly, and hopefully they will peak during district play. I’m impressed by their progress. Way to go, coaches! While we are speaking of the girls, many of the team are also cheerleaders. This year, Mrs. James has honed their skills and their unity. They look impressive. Don’t forget to praise our girls whenever you can.
The future of Coyote football took the field Saturday morning as the Richland Springs Pee Wee teams traveled to Jonesboro for opening week of the Central Texas Pee Wee Football League. This group includes students from pre-K to second grade. Congratulations to our “little guys.” We also have teams from 3-6th grade.
I’m not sure if I mentioned it a few weeks ago, but Richland has started its first TPUSA Conservative Chapter. This group will be under the leadership of past board President, Renne Mann. According to Mr. Mann, “There are two rule books we go by as Americans. First, is the Bible. We are first and foremost One Nation Under God. The second, is the Constitution of the United States of America. We are to abide by both; we do not change or manipulate either.” Student leadership leads the way.

The quilting ladies road trip had 17 ladies. No matter how much material we have, there’s always something else that catches our eye. Don’t forget, meetings are Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall. The new book to study has struck a powerful chord in my heart. The study is worth coming to even if you don’t sew.
Elections are approaching. This is a privilege and requirement for every good American. No matter who wins your vote, know what they stand for. I suggest you look at both party platforms and judge whether your personal beliefs agree with which party. Individuals used to matter, but in our present atmosphere, party members tend to vote along party lines. So please do your homework. Let’s keep our country free. We are unique among governments around the world. Stand up and be an informed voter.
Please pray for the unrest around the world. Much of it seems to be centered on open borders. Please pray for peace and safety for our troops. Also, there have been many fires, and the fire departments are strictly enforcing the burn ban. Please take care and avoid costly fires. Have a wonderful week.
