As the summer heat gives way to the anticipation of Friday night lights, excitement is building in San Saba for the upcoming Armadillo football season. After two tough scrimmages against quality opponents, our team feels battle-tested and ready for the challenge ahead as we prepare to open the season at the No. 17 DeLeon Bearcats this Friday.
Our players have come a long way since last year, showing a relentless work ethic and a determination to improve every single day. We know the schedule ahead is a tough one, but these young men aren’t backing down. Instead, they’re using every practice to correct mistakes and sharpen their skills, determined to make this season one to remember.
From my perspective as Athletic Director, I couldn’t be more proud or more excited. Our coaching staff is full, passionate, and ready to pour their energy into every program and every student-athlete. With strong numbers across all sports and a slate of new districts and fresh challenges, we see nothing but opportunity. These are the kinds of problems you want to have as a program.
We’re grateful for the support of our community and school district, and I know our coaches and players are ready to give everything they have for each other, for San Saba, and for every Dillo fan. Here’s to a great season ahead! Go Dillos!
