Last week was a week full of afterschool activities. Our first PTC meeting of the year was a huge success with many more attendees than usual. We signed up for committees and learned about some new ideas for the year. If you sign up to be a member by the next meeting (September 8th), you will be entered into a drawing for a prize pack. The prize is a stadium seat, a couple of meal passes at the football concession stand, and a cute bag ordered from the booster club. We also introduced the PTC punch card. You can earn punches by being an active member: attending meetings, volunteering at the concession stand, serving on a committee, etc. When your card is full you will be entered into another drawing for a family oriented prize pack.
We also hosted Meet the Indians. Our little Indian cheerleaders who attended cheer camp this summer performed to start out the evening. They were followed by a performance from our junior high and high school cheerleaders. We introduced FFA members, cross country runners, and our football team. The night concluded with some complimentary hot dogs from the booster club.
We will have a high school football scrimmage this Friday in Covington. Our first game will be next week in Leakey.
We will have a half day coming up for teachers on the 28th. This day is designed to give parents and teachers an opportunity to hold conferences. We welcome our parents to schedule a time on that day to meet with teachers to set the stage for the rest of the year. We hope that this year is the best year yet and that starts with a partnership between parents and teachers!
