The Richland Springs Report

I’ve returned from the annual quilting retreat in Stonewall, Texas, refreshed and renewed. I can’t truly explain the peace and happiness that comes when a group of Christian women get together to work and fellowship while accomplishing beautiful projects. We laugh and cry, share daily joys and pains knowing that there is unity and love within the group. We learn from one another and critique each other’s work lovingly. This trip, Toni Hill tested out her new embroidery machine on some aprons. They were so cute that several of the ladies decided to make their own reversible aprons with unique embroidery designs.

Richland Springs ISD will be home to several new teachers. Mr. Roesler and Mr. Friar along with the school board are making provisions to put the school on a firm financial path and fulfill the needs of our students. Coach Clutch is preparing our sports program. We have a new ag teacher; his resume was posted on Facebook earlier. I think I may be able to retire.

The summer food program will kick off this Wednesday. This offering is a program designed for any family that has children. All food items are self-stable and offered at no cost. First Baptist is the church that has been chosen to distribute the food items. We need every family in Richland Springs to participate as there is a large amount of food.

Our community lost another precious member this week. Louise Hyman went to be with the Lord. Her funeral serv ice will be at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba to be followed by a graveside service in Ebony. A meal for family and friends will be held at the First Baptist Church. Our condolences go out to her daughter and other family members.

The men’s prayer breakfast will be this coming Saturday at the Tabernacle. Breakfast will be served at 7:00 a.m. Don Faucett will be the guest speaker. All men and youth are welcomed to attend.

Please continue to pray for our sick community members, our country, our President, and Congress, and for the wars around the world. Most of all, pray for our precious troops and their families. God bless America.
