Alice Jane Allen

Alice Jane Williams Allen was born in Rising Star, Texas, on January 13, 1941. She passed away on Sunday June 7, 2026, in San Saba after a brief illness. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in San Saba. She graduated from San Saba High School, where she was an avid tennis player. Many of her friends met on the tennis courts where she continued to play into her adult life. She cherished making memories with her brother, kids, nieces and nephews on the tennis court. You could find her every Sunday watching her favorite NFL Team, the Dallas Cowboys, to say the least, she was their biggest fan.

She married the love of her life, Jimmy Allen, on July 17, 1959, in San Saba. They were married 46 years before Jimmy’s passing in August of 2005. They had two children, Wade and Kristy.

Alice (AJ) worked as a Head Start Director at Hill Country Community Action Agency before her retirement at 39 years. There she met and established lifelong friendships that were still active until her passing.

Alice always met you with a smile on face and wanted to know what was going on with you before she raved on her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Lucille Williams; three brothers: Jerry Williams, Gene Williams and Charles Williams.

Alice survived by her son, Wade Allen (Terri) of Lometa; daughter, Kristy Hooten (Jim) of Robert Lee; grandchildren: Justin Allen (Chloe) of Marble Falls, Waylon Allen of San Saba, Bailey Appleton (Cameron) of Stephenville, and Kolten Hooten of Robert Lee; greatgrandchildren: Madelyn Allen, Kylie Allen, Payton Jane Allen of Johnson City, Reed Lewis, Lyric Allen and Asa Allen of Marble Falls; one brother, Mike Williams of San Angelo; two sisters-in-law, Dodie Williams and Mary Williams of Burnet; extended family of Shane, Lyncie Laughlin, Axle and Mitchell of Lometa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews across the state; and special family friends: Scotty, Dan and Jason Roberds of San Antonio.

Pallbearers include Justin Allen, Waylon Allen, Kolten Hooten, Cameron Appleton, Dan Roberds and Jason Roberds.

Honorary Pallbearers include Scotty Roberds, Bill Don Edmondson, Bobby Glen Johnson.

A visitation for Alice will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba. A funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2026, at San Saba’s First Baptist Church and will be officiated by Pastor Sam Crosby and Neal Alexander. Interment will follow and take place at the San Saba City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba.
