Patsy Marschall Stewart

Patsy Marschall Stewart moved from her earthly home in San Saba to her heavenly home on June 6, 2026, following a valiant battle against old age. Patsy Ann Marschall was born to Ernst Coreth “Pat” Marschall and Lee Allen Foster Marschall on June 7, 1932, in Llano, Texas. Although her early years spanned the Great Depression, she had many happy memories of growing up surrounded by family, eating out of the prolific family garden, and riding her horse, accompanied by her special friends the Simpson Twins.

After her mother’s untimely death in 1947, she transferred from Llano High School to Incarnate Word High School in San Antonio. Then, in October 1948, Patsy married Tom Sloan Pool in the Sloan Sisters’ parlor in Sloan Community. The young couple made their home on the family ranch and had three children: Laura Lee, Pat Sloan, and Christine Diane. Following Sloan and Patsy’s divorce in 1969, Patsy returned to school in Brownwood, where she learned to do bookkeeping. This education proved very useful after she married Kennith Paul Stewart in August 1974, and they later started their business Stewart Pipe Company. They enjoyed many happy years together until Kennith’s death in January 2018.

Patsy was a longtime member of New Hope Presbyterian Church ECO and participated in the WOC, as well as serving as church historian for years. She loved to cook, collected recipes and cookbooks, and won multiple awards for her San Saba Pecan Show entries. She also loved dancing with Kennith, playing with her cats, drinking a strong cup of coffee, traveling, and enjoying good times with friends, particularly the Friday Night Supper group.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kennith; her daughter, Christine Bessent; and her grandson, James Sloan Pool.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Behrens and husband Carter; her son, Pat Pool and wife Jo Nell; her son-in-law, Keith Bessent; and Kennith’s son, James Stewart. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Alicia Behrens Cole and husband Sterling, and Chris Pool; plus two great-grandchildren: Sutton Carter Cole and Sloan Addison Cole.

The family wishes to thank those who enabled Patsy to spend her last days in her own home, particularly Estella Ramirez and Marisol Chavarria, true angels on earth.

The memorial service will take place at New Hope Presbyterian Church ECO in Sloan Community on Sunday, June 14, at 2:00 p.m. If you would like to honor Patsy with a donation, please consider New Hope Presbyterian Church ECO (9615 FM 2732, San Saba, TX 76877) or Sloan Cemetery Association (7090 CR 308, San Saba, TX 76877).
