So much going on

Looking at what is going on in the world today; we have no idea if we are in a world war before the sun goes down or not. So much suffering, persecution, hunger and people being displaced, not by the thousands, but sometimes millions. To my heartbreak, the unrest and turmoil - even in our own country.

But then there is the weather with record breaking storms, flooding in Hawaii and a lot of places in severe droughts. My prayer list has surely been active praying for friends or loved ones’ friends, and many recently losing loved ones.

But there are a lot of good things happening like new births, marriages, new jobs, homes, cars and countless other good things.

One very important thing we must remember, God is in control and is very much aware of what is going on.

In the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3:1-8, it says there is a time for everything - good and bad. It is a good place to start to get a better perspective on things. It teaches us to fear, honor and revere God, (See Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 12-14; 12:1-7).

As we look at today and tomorrow, we do not know what is in store for us, but one thing we can put our trust and hope in is God.

Remember, He provided a way our sins could be forgiven and that was through Jesus Christ and will take care of us.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Hebrews 9:24-28 For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

See you in Church next Sunday.
