Who's accountable? Not these folks!
Who is in charge of oversight of the work the commissioners are supposed to be directing their crews to actually do? Well we are in the dark here. Call the county judges office, they will tell you to call your commissioner. Do that and you will get no answer or call back. I once asked our commissioner about the condition of county road 310. His answer, we don't have the budget to fix the roads. Excuse me! The county seems to have plenty of budget to purchase land $140,000, lease equipment = bulldozer $5,000 per month (which went past the lease agreement).
Who's in charge? I'd almost be willing to bet most county officials have not had to travel the county roads we are taxed for the privilege of ruining our vehicles on.
So, your honor, commissioners, anybody in charge. Please smooth out the roads. Your first and main priority.
Now after purchasing 10 acres of land for a 'new' yard for county equipment, that same commissioner is talking about buying the S&W shop on Highway 190. Somebody please explain to these folks that the money they are spending is 'not their money.' It's ours and we expect a lot better return than useless purchases. Fix the daggone roads first.
