1 Juan 1:5-10 DHH Éste es el mensaje que Jesucristo nos enseñó y que les anunciamos a ustedes: que Dios es luz y que en él no hay ninguna oscuridad. Si decimos que estamos unidos a él, y al mismo tiempo vivimos en la oscuridad, mentimos y no practicamos la verdad. Pero si vivimos en la luz, así como Dios está en la luz, entonces hay unión entre nosotros, y la sangre de su Hijo Jesús nos limpia de todo pecado.
Si decimos que no tenemos pecado, nos engañamos a nosotros mismos y no hay verdad en nosotros; pero si confesamos nuestros pecados, podemos confiar en que Dios, que es justo, nos perdonará nuestros pecados y nos limpiará de toda maldad. Si decimos que no hemos cometido pecado, hacemos que Dios parezca mentiroso y no hemos aceptado verdaderamente su palabra. Estoy muy sorprendido de que ustedes se hayan alejado tan pronto de Dios, que los llamó mostrando en Cristo su bondad, y se hayan pasado a otro evangelio. En realidad no es que haya otro evangelio. Lo que pasa es que hay algunos que los perturban a ustedes, y que quieren trastornar el evangelio de Cristo. Pero si alguien les anuncia un evangelio distinto del que ya les hemos anunciado, que caiga sobre él la maldición de Dios, no importa si se trata de mí mismo o de un ángel venido del cielo. Lo he dicho antes y ahora lo repito: Si alguien les anuncia un evangelio diferente del que ya recibieron, que caiga sobre él la maldición de Dios. Yo no busco la aprobación de los hombres, sino la aprobación de Dios. No busco quedar bien con los hombres. ¡Si yo quisiera quedar bien con los hombres, ya no sería un siervo de Cristo!
1 John 1:5-10 ERV We heard the true teaching from God. Now we tell it to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness. So if we say that we share in life with God, but we continue living in darkness, we are liars, who don’t follow the truth. We should live in the light, where God is. If we live in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood sacrifice of Jesus, God’s Son, washes away every sin and makes us clean.
If we say that we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done. If we say that we have not sinned, we are saying that God is a liar and that we don’t accept his true teaching.
