My Little Dilemma

It happens about this time of year. Trying to decide what gifts I will give my friends and loved ones. I usually put a lot of thought into the gift I am going to give. This causes a problem in that I want to give them what they wish for but on the other hand I try to give them something they need very much. My little dilemma could be like a problem God faced many years ago. It was after God created man and woman and they disobeyed and were separated from Him (Genesis 3:9-13, Isaiah 59:1&2). God had to decide if he wanted that broken relationship between man and God restored and how would He do it. God decided to give us the gift we needed the most, not just the things we wished for. He gave or sent us the only way that relationship could be restored, by His only begotten son, Christ Jesus (Matthew 2:1&2, John 3:14&15). It was the most precious thing God possessed but God loved us and proved His love for us (Romans 5:8).

As we are thinking of our loved ones and thinking of giving them special gifts, remember God loves us very much and has given us a precious, special gift. Receive it with gladness (Isaiah 9:6, John 1:12, Romans 10:9-13). If we can let us slow down and reflect on the love of God for us this Holiday Season, (Psalm 67:1,107:15).

See you in Church soon.
