The Richland Springs Coyotes were victorious in their bi-district matchup against the Calvert Trojans, with a final score of 62-0. The game on Thursday began the Coyotes' postseason run, as they keep their eyes set on a 10th state championship title.
The Coyotes jumped out to a 46-0 lead after one quarter over Calvert as Cohen Ethridge, #0, had three special teams touchdowns – returning a kick for 75 yards, as well as two punt returns for 45 and 40 yards.
Billy Perry, #17, rushed for a 25-yard touchdown and also threw a 22-yard touchdown to Ethan Deeds, #8, who tossed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Layne Ward, #16. Trendon Vogel, #7, added a 41-yard rushing score for the Coyotes.
The Coyotes will take on the Zephyr Bulldogs at 6:30 PM in San Saba on Friday, November 21, 2025, for the Area Championship.
