Richland Springs School Board update

The RS ISD School Board held a meeting Monday Night, June 30, 2025, in the library. The meeting was live streamed.

The 6 p.m. meeting started with prayer and pledges to the flags led by Board President Gunner Mann.

As there were no previous meeting minutes or bills to pay, those items were tabled.

There were three citizens who chose to speak to members of the board. After they spoke, the Board went into executive session.

After more than three hours, the Board came back into open session at 9:31 p.m.

As the members were taking there seats, the camera spanned part of the room to show many folks in attendance had waited it out and stayed to see what would happen once the members reconvened.

The resignation of superintendent Jeff Kirby was accepted, and Bobby Fryar was elected to be the Interim Superintendent.

Consideration of the resignation of Principal Amy Wilson was also on the agenda. However, according to Board President Gunner Mann, her resignation was already accepted by her supervisor, Superintendent Jeff Kirby, and the Board does not have anything to do with that.
