Museum Notes

The regular monthly board meeting of the San Saba County Museum Foundation was held May 1st. Highlights of that meeting were the Curator’s report and plans for ourAnnual Membership meeting on Sunday, June 1st.

The Curator reported the donation of the World War II uniform and memorabilia of San Saba native Benton Miller who served in the Pacific theater. Our curator, Aileen Roberts, is planning a redesign of the north wall of the Honors room where Mr. Miller’s uniform will be displayed.

Jerry Blankenship confirmed that Guy Narcomey, who is a Comanche Storyteller, will be presenting the program at our Annual Membership Meeting. Mr. Narcomey is a native American educator who specializes in Comanche culture and language. He is coming from Lawton, OK, to share stories that would have been heard around a Comanche campfire in long ago San Saba County.

This Annual Meeting is open to anyone who would be interested in hearing these stories and meeting Guy.
