The San Saba Elementary students and staff collected 17,761 bottles in just eight school days! The KSSB (Keep San Saba Beautiful) challenged our school with collecting plastic bottles and learning about recycling.
Our goal was to collect more than one-third of the number of bottles collected last year. Last year, our campus collected over 50,000 over a six-week period. In only one-third of that time, the SSES Family collected over 35% of that amount! We beat our goal!
The Kindergarten classes won the contest by collecting 4,381 bottles, closely followed by our second place winner, the 1st Grade classes with 4,096 bottles! Third place went to 3rd Grade with 3,605 bottles, fourth place went to 2nd Grade with 2,390 bottles, fifth place went to 4th Grade with 1,942 bottles, and sixth place went to PK3/PK4 classes with 1,347 bottles.
Way to go SSES! Thank you KSSB for inviting us to the challenge! We look forward to beating our goal again next year!!
