“The Deity of Christ”
Hebrews 1:1-3 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom he also made the worlds: 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.”
Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
Let’s notice The Power of His Word v.2 “spoken unto us by his Son.”
His spoken word has power – “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.” John 6:63.
His word is Clear – “He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear.”
It is Prohibitive – “Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee” Psalm 119:11 It is Cleansing – “wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word.” Psalm 119:9 It is Creative – “By whom also he made the worlds” Hebrews 1:1 “In the beginning” Genesis 1:1
Notice next “The Wealth of His Possessions” v.2 “Heir of all things.”
I’ll present just a few of these all things in Psalm 50.
• He owns The Cattle on a thousand hills, v. 10
• He says The world is mine, and the fullness thereof. v. 12.
• He owns The beasts of the forest. v. 10
• He says I know all The fowls of the mountains. v. 11 And the in Haggai 2:8 says it pretty plainly, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.”
So, when we speak of Christ, we must realize that all power, all possessions and all properties, all the world and everything on it and under it are his. As a Child of God, we have access to everything that he owns, and he owns it all. Romans 8:17 puts it like this, “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ.”
