What lies ahead?

Last week, I wrote about what happens to everyone who rejects Jesus Christ and what their future holds. Not a pretty picture and to be cast into the Lake of Fire and burn and suffer forever and ever.

Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death. (See also Revelation 20:10-15 and Revelation 22:11-12)

Matthew 25:41, 46 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,...)

The Bible says great numbers will choose to reject, neglect and disobey God.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.

Romans 2:5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.

The result is they forfeit God’s very precious and wonderful gift, forgiveness of sins, a new life in Christ, and at the moment of death transported into the presence of Jesus Christ and eternity in Heaven. (See John 3:16)

But like those English grammar rules, there is also one exception. Living Christians might not taste death. In Christ’s return in the air and not setting foot on the earth at that time, “the rapture” in the twinkling of an eye, the body of Christ, the bride, all living believers will join all those Christians that have died and are in the grave, at that moment all will be changed.

They will get a resurrected body like Jesus Christ. (See 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18) The Bible talks a good deal about when Christ Jesus is revealed, those that have accepted Him as Lord and Savior will be revealed with Him also.

Romans 8:11, 18, 23 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

1 Peter 1:5, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.

There are a number of future events to take place, a great tribulation,1,000 year reign, one final battle and all evil defeated to mention a few.

See you in Church next Sunday.
