The Richland Springs Preservation Society held their regular monthly meeting Monday, November 18th, at the Richland Springs Community Center. Thirteen people were present. The previous month's minutes and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.
Sue Ransom shared an email she had received from Larry Edgerton. We will not qualify for the Catkins until we can provide all their requirements.
Paige Moats reported that she is working on a new grant. It will be due by the end of the year, or we can apply by the end of March. One of the items needed are new estimates to replace the bank building roof.
The three windows on the west side of the bank building have been replaced, with all new wood frames.
Paige reported that the Beautification Committee’s Christmas Market on November 30th, there will be a chili lunch offered in the Bank lobby at no cost. People will be offered the opportunity to donate to the Preservation Society for upcoming building repairs. Dave Degroot has agreed to donate meat for the chili, and Maurice and Tami Lusty will make it.
On December 8th, the Preservation Society will have a community wide potluck with stew and chili, cornbread and desserts at the Community Center at 12 noon. Anyone who would like to contribute to the lunch can drop off their crockpot of stew or chili on Sunday morning before church. Donations will go toward the roof repair.
Jack Carroll donated $50, challenging others to also make regular donations. There have been various sizes of donations, and all are very helpful. If anyone would like to submit a donation, checks may be mailed to Preservation Society, P O Box 153, Richland Springs, TX 76871.
There will be no December meeting, so the next meeting will be January 20th, the third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
