Another amazing romp through the week has finished.
Between school, organizations, home and church, there seems to be an endless round of activities. The Thanksgiving lunch at school on Thursday was not as well attended as Veteran’s Day, but we still had a good group of parents eating lunch with their children. The cafeteria staff had beautifully decorated the room. The meal was delicious, and the culinary students did an excellent job preparing and serving the meal. Some of the boys stayed after lunch to help with the cleanup. We have a wonderful group of students.
The volleyball road has ended. Although the girls have only been playing for three years, their advancement past the area finals was a school record. We’re so proud of this formidable group of lady athletes. I’m looking forward to their transition into the basketball season. I foresee many winning games in their immediate future.
In the meantime, our varsity football team is headed to Comanche to play. The Zephyr Bulldogs. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. It will be live-streamed on sansabaradio.com. I suggest everyone bring their warm jackets. If you forget, the Coyote wagon will be there to outfit you with a cozy sweat jacket or better yet a warm hoodie. I won’t be able to make this game as I will be out of town, but I hope to follow them on their road to state. Best of luck to our coaches and athletes. Our flag football team won the Superbowl game against Throckmorton 18-13. Congratulations to our future Coyote Varsity players. There will be no Kid’s Church this Wednesday due to illness. Not the kids this time, but the adults. There was multiple cases of RSV, sinus infection and other respiratory illnesses. They will resume on December 4th. I was told at the doctor's office that we have had two confirmed cases of whooping cough in San Saba County. Please keep your children safe.
The quilting ladies are headed to Fredericksburg for a fall retreat. After buying all that material from Mason, they must get busy producing some incredible new quilts. There are a few more meetings before we break for the holidays. Please remember, everyone is welcome to attend this women’s fellowship.
We’re a few short weeks away from the Christmas Market. RSBOHO Unique, Chrissy’s Plants and dozens of local vendors will have their wares for sale. Now is the time to stock up on Christmas gifts. With any luck, you can get it all done in one day.
There will be photos with Santa, a hot meal in the bank building and other fun activities. There’s a cute photo-op at Chrissy’s place.
One of the activities will be a hot cocoa contest. Get out your best recipe, and sign up with Chrissy. The Shoppe 1910 will have a wide variety of collectibles and fine China available at the Christmas Market.
Monday is the third Monday, and the RSPS will hold their monthly meeting. Details of the meeting will be in the newspaper the following week. Annual membership will be due in January, and the society is needing some large donations from members to assist with the restoration of the old bank.
We’re waiting for the storms tonight. We certainly need the rain, but we can skip the winds and damage. We have many sick people on the prayer list, our country needs some peace amid all the turmoil, and the world needs strong leaders who will be peacefully minded. Please, Lord, heal our land, bring peace to the world and most of all protect our precious troops and their families.
