Congressman Pfluger held a community Town Hall meeting in the San Saba Courthouse this past week to provide an update on government funding, election security, and his recent military service.
San Saba Community Recognitions:
Congressman Pfluger recognized and presented Congressional Certificates to San Saba High School Seniors Gracen Shahan and Tegan Sartor for their recent accomplishments in their extracurricular activities and dedication to their school and community.
SAVE Act & Election Security:
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE) earlier this year to end non-citizen voting. The SAVE Act would require states to obtain proof of citizenship – in person – when registering an individual to vote and remove non-citizens from existing voter rolls. “I have helped lead the fight to secure the U.S. election system by introducing legislation to block non-citizens from voting in Washington, D.C. that passed the U.S. House by a bipartisan vote. If you can’t provide documentation that you are an American citizen, you should not be able to vote – period.”
Military Service:
“I spent the last month serving as a reserve officer in the United States Air Force. Having the opportunity to reconnect with this aspect of my service and understand the challenges that our military is going through is invaluable. There are so many incredible men and women serving this country who signed up to put the country ahead of themselves and it was incredibly impactful to work alongside them. They want to serve, and they want to know that the mission is making a difference in protecting our great nation.
“Our world continues to be a dangerous place, especially with increasing aggression from Russia, China, Iran, and other violent terrorist extremists around the globe. We need to ensure the men and women serving our country in uniform have the tools, resources, and capabilities to complete the mission at hand. I have hope and continue to be inspired by their courage and patriotism. May God continue to bless our country and service members abroad and at home.”
