I remember the time I was changing the heater filter on our house furnace. I got a little careless and stuck myself with one of the wires in the filter. As I looked at the tiny drops of blood, I realized if I were in the medical profession and working on a person who had AIDS (HIV) I would have just condemned myself to a life of misery and death (no cure for HIV) because of one little mistake.
In God's realm it is also the same way, and all it takes is one little mistake, (one sin) and we are condemned to death (separated from God never allowed into Heaven).
Many people think because they have not robbed a bank or killed someone they have not sinned and they are going to heaven. Romans 3:23 and 6:23 teaches differently.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
That sounds like bad news, and it is. But unlike aids for which there is no cure, there is a cure for sin.
Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
It is the innocent shed blood of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 26:28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
It has the power to cleanse our sins and make us whole again. It can remove the sentence of death that we deserve.
Make sure you have confessed your sins to God and asked Christ into your heart as Lord and Savior.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Romans 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
And start living the new and wonderful life God created you for.
Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
See you in Church on Sunday.
