Alice in Wonder Land

The SSN&S has given updates on this year's Mission San Saba scheduled for Sunday, June 9th, - Saturday, June 15th. My husband Larry was part of this and like many, scheduled this as 'vacation time.' It is a community project and such a blessing for the workers and family selected.

The Nascar race on Sunday, May 26th, had a weather delay because of rain. They were a little over half way to the 200 laps at 9:45 p.m. After an hour delay, the race was cancelled because they could not get the race track dry. When Larry and I were dating, he drove a race car on a dirt track here in Ohio. I never saw a race or knew anything about racing until I dated him, but I knew I had a winner before I saw him win a race.

After church on Sunday, June 26th, I put flowers on relatives' graves in Dresden and drove to Millersburg (a one-hour drive from Zanesville) for the graves of infant son James Carl and infant daughter Tamara Lee, then drove by Frazeysburg to the graves of Sam and Linda Purtee. I know the meaning of Memorial Day as I meditated and prayed at the beginning of the day - a day to reflect, remember and depend on God for guidance, peace and hope.

KJV – Romans 5: 1- 3... Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by Whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
