Lawrence Elton “Doc” Fisher III

As the sun rose on the morning of May 8, 2024, Lawrence Elton “Doc” Fisher III went to meet the Lord. Doc was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on January 14, 1952, to Lawrence Elton Fisher Jr. He married the love of his life, Barbara Greer, on June 14, 1995, and shared 31 blissful years together. Doc had many hobbies that he enjoyed doing like welding metal art, woodwork, barbecuing, being on his old John Deere tractor; however, most of all he loved a good joke. Doc served on the Richland Springs Volunteer Fire Department for 21 years; six of those years he served as Assistant Chief.

When Doc met Barbara, he gained four children whom he loved and adored: Donald Chapman, Tina Poe (Mike), Kellie Thompson, and John Braja (Selena). Doc had many pride and joys of his life including grandchildren: Nicholas Chapman, John Poe (Christan), Roy Hottel, Josh Higginbotham,Autumn Gooding (James), Courtney Roberson (Jesse), Winston Poe (Elizabeth), Kaylie Braja, and Jayden Braja (Kira); great-grandchildren: Hayley Poe, James Coulter, Cutler Gray, Luke Poe, Kamry Socha, Zachary Coulter, Zoe Poe, Tinley Roberson, Katie Coulter, Cayden Chapman-Hottel, Kohen Hartranft, Chloe Poe, Joseph Coulter, Tate Poe, and Faye Braja; siblings: Lucy (Gary) Wright, Diana Thompson, Susan Wilkerson, Edward (Sheryl) Fisher, Barbara Castro, Bonnie (Dina) Fisher, and Robert Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doc was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Elton Fisher Jr.; brother, Robert Fisher; mother and father-in-law, John and Minnie Litton; brother-in-law, Leon Litton and Gary Litton; and grandson, Nicholas Chapman.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Richland Springs Volunteer Fire Department. A Memorial will be held May 18, at 2:00 p.m. with a fellowship meal at R.S.V.F.D. Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral Home San Saba.
