Lenny's Life Lessons

Hello, my dearest San Saba loves, and how have you been since last we spoke? If I didn’t know better, I would think mom snuck in another college degree on me…interior/exterior design! Yeah, to use my favorite Jewish phrase, she has gone mashugana, which means crazy, goofy, silly! Oh wait, that would imply she wasn’t already there, never mind. Anyway, she has been decorating inside and outside, but I have to admit it is starting to look nice. One thing I do not enjoy is when we are out in the yard and she tells me to not to dare lift my leg on the giant blue heron!

One thing I adore about this tiny house, mom cooked me chicken this week and I didn’t have to stand in the kitchen to smell it’s amazing aroma. Nope, I could lie on the couch and dream about eating it when it was done…amazing! It is also great mom can hear me complain from every single room, although she finds that as irritating as a sticker burr in her sock. Speaking of sticker burrs, what is their point? I hate them! They lodge themselves in the pads of my paws like tiny sharks! I try to take them out with my mouth and feel like a seamstress is sewing my tongue to my foot! Yeah, I really despise sticker burrs.

Speaking of my mouth, dachshunds notoriously have dragon breath. My vet in Houston gave mom chicken flavored toothpaste and told her to use her finger to brush my teeth. There is a reason I end this column by saying I love you to chicken bits…I would rather eat chicken than breathe. I can promise if you put something in my mouth that tastes like chicken, I will chew, and if your finger happens to be in there at the same time, oh well. Yeah, we quite look like a Three Stooges movie when my teeth are brushed!

My lovely friends, coming to live San Saba was the best thing that has happened in my life besides finding a home with mom! I have found such joy and happiness here, and I thank you! Have a beautiful week, my dearest one! We love you to chicken bits!
