L. D. Munsell bought the Dr. Burleson farm and moved in last week. Dr. and Mrs. Burleson moved to Richland Springs. We are glad to welcome Mr. Munsell and family into our Shiloh community.
Arden Moore's house burned down last week. It caught fire while they were away and burned everything they had. Arden lives on D. R. Moore's farm.
Last week while cranking his car, Arden Moore broke his wrist.
All the folks around Chappel have the measles. They are going pretty hard with some of them, but we are in hopes that they are better today.
Mrs. Graves Burke and little daughter, Miss Dorothy of Cherokee were guests of their parents Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Taylor this week.
Dr. Berry has returned from the Eye Clinic in South Texas and will be in his office Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays.
Uncle Billy Gibbons was down from the ranch this week on business and meeting his many friends. We got the straight dope from him about that oil well on his place and from what we can learn that section of the county someday is going to be an oil field of big production. It will not make any difference how big it gets it will not turn Uncle Billy's head even if he does own all the land in that part of the county.

Mrs. J. D. Cox, who recently moved with her family to Lampasas, was honored by her coworkers with a farewell party. Mrs. Cox was presented a gift by the employees of Harry's Department Store and Fabric Shop.
Mrs. Gus Jesse of Bay city and Mrs. E. W. Owen of Baytown were guests of their sisters and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McDoniel and Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Taylor during the weekend.
Mrs. Bess Sifford of Cherokee and daughter, Mrs. James Epperson of Valley Springs, visited with Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Harber.
Mrs. Nona Anderson celebrated her 85th birthday at her home here. Her daughter, Miss Florese Anderson, served coffee and cake to those who called during the evening to extend best wishes to Mrs. Anderson.
Betty Conner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Conner and San Saba 4-H Club member, placed her Shorthorn heifer second in the Junior Shorthorn Heifer division of the Fort Worth Livestock Show. The heifer was the champion heifer of the San Saba County Livestock Show.
The San Saba girl cagers upset the Mason girls by a score of 45 to 42 at Mason. Nancy Kidd led the scoring for the San Saba girls with 24 points. Kathleen Hector scored 16 points, Mary Bearden, 2, and Sharon Williams, 3.
