Rotary Minute

Thursday, January 18th, San Saba Rotary Club had its regularly scheduled weekly meeting at Pepperbelly's Restaurant, Marcus Wood presiding. Sixteen members, one honor student, and guest speaker Heather Land Morris were present. Keith Owen, the newly selected San Saba School Superintendent was among those present. Superintendent Owen, recently approved by the SSISD Board, has replaced Interim Superintendent, Buck Gilcrease.

Acey Mask, honor student from SSHS, was welcomed by Rotary. Acey is planning a future career in the medical field as a Radiologist and has chosen ASU, Angelo State University, as his preferred college of choice.

County Attorney Randy Robinson introduced the guest speaker, Heather Land Morris, FNP. She explained her role at Mid Coast Medical Clinic in San Saba: administering medications, diagnosing illness, and referring patients to the Mid Coast Hospital in Llano. The clinic is a welcome medical resource to San Saba. Located on Wallace Street two blocks west of the First Baptist Church, the clinic is a part of the large Mid Coast Medical System found throughout Texas with clinics and hospitals in El Campo, Mason, Tyler, Llano, Bay City, and other small communities that have been previously underserved.
