Have you noticed? San Saba Realty (formerly Gene Stewart Real Estate) is now proudly owned by Cindy Prater, Broker and Carter Williams. Earlier this year, Cindy and Carter purchased the business and presented Gene Stewart with a “Round To-it.”
After 30 plus years and thousands of acres sold, Gene Stewart and his wife, Sylvia, have finally reached that long sought after day of retirement and have traded in the daily grind of the office for time with family, travel and to catch up on all those projects put off until Gene got “a round to-it.” Not quite ready to totally end his real estate career, Gene may be seen at the office occasionally as he will remain associated with San Saba Realty.
Many of you know and have worked with Cindy Prater, Broker for San Saba Realty in years past. She is well acquainted with the business of real estate in San Saba County and the surrounding area. Cindy has worked with Gene Stewart for more than 20 years as an Associate Broker following 15 years managing San Saba County Abstract & Title Company. Cindy is immensely grateful for the knowledge and experience gained by being exposed to such a large variety of real estate transactions while working at the title company and learning solutions used by attorneys to solve the problems attached to almost every transaction.
Cindy is married to Ken Prater who is known locally for his many years owning Custom Water Well Service and Arma-dillo Land Clearing before his retirement.
Carter Williams started his real estate career with Gene Stewart and San Saba Realty in 2020 when he approached Gene about an opportunity to join the team. Carter had met Gene several years earlier while looking for property to buy. Of course, with Gene's knowledge and dedication to his clients, he helped Carter and his family add more land to their existing ranch in Mills County.
Carter has been in and around the real estate world for most of his life. He grew up in the small town of Lovington, New Mexico, where his father invested his time, money and efforts into a thriving residential rental company. Carter learned from an early age the value of real estate not only from a rental prospective but also from an investment and service aspect.
Carter is married to his wife, Talley, of 25 years. Talley is a commercial real estate attorney with the law firm Metcalfe, Wolff, Stuart & Williams located in Austin. They have two children: Benton, 15 years old in the 9th grade, and Kendall, 12 years old in the 7th grade.
Cindy and Carter along with Marcie Wright and Gene Stewart are excited to continue providing the same exceptional real estate buying and selling experience that San Saba Realty is known and highly respected for providing for many years to come.
