The October 13th Rotary business meeting was held at Pepperbelly's, Tom Griess presiding. Nine members were present. Business topics considered included the highway cleanup schedule and flag routes for Armadillo and US flag postings.
The San Saba High School National Honor Society guest was senior student Jancsi Cuevas. The academic scholar, Jancsi, is interested in Civil Engineering as a major and is hopeful that he attends Texas A & M in the fall of 2024.
Member and San Saba High School Art Teacher Shara Wright brought copies of outstanding student art for consideration by the Rotary Club for the April 8th Total Solar Eclipse T-shirts logo. Rotary plans to market the T-shirts to visitors and local residents in order to continue to raise funds for local San Saba community projects.
A major report by member Aleck Newby showed that the successful September 30th Rotary golf tournament raised $18,833.71 this year, an increase of more than $5,000 over last year’s tournament. Kudos and many thanks to this year’s sponsors and participants!
