Rebecca Corey Linn weds Scott Pierce Hughes

Ms. Rebecca Corey Linn and Mr. Scott Pierce Hughes were married on September 30, 2023, at The Revaire in Houston, Texas. The Honorable Tracy Christopher, Chief Justice of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals of the State of Texas, officiated at the ceremony. A reception at The Revaire, hosted by the bride’s parents, followed the double-ring ceremony. Divisi Strings provided music for the ceremony and cocktail reception. The Taylor Pace Orchestra provided music for dinner and dancing.

A festive rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held on the eve of the wedding at Pappasito’s. A Bridal Attendants’ Luncheon, hosted by the aunts of the bride, was held the day before the wedding at Backstreet Café.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Phyllis June Cohen and Mr. Lewis Murray Linn of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Dorothy and Ralph Cohen of Nutley, New Jersey, and the late Johnnie Lou and Don Linn of San Saba, Texas. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gregory Pierce Hughes of Georgetown, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Rachel and John Weightman of Eden Mills, Vermont, and the late Elizabeth and William Hughes of Locust Valley, New York.

Presented in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her father, the bride wore a silk faille V-neck trumpet gown by Oscar de la Renta with draped ruffle back and illusion neckline. Her cathedral length veil by Carolina Herrera featured organza ribbon edging. Rebecca carried a bouquet of white roses, ranunculus, and freesia. As her “something old,” Rebecca carried rings tied to her bouquet that had been worn by her maternal and paternal grandmothers.

Mr. Sam Thomas Linn of New York, New York, served his sister as Man of Honor. The bridesmaids, attired in navy floor-length gowns by Amsale, were Ms. Alicia Ellen Hergenroeder of San Francisco, California; Ms. Diana Margaret Kirkland of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Dr. Juliet Lindsey Kroll of Houston, Texas; Dr. Margaret Kapor Manus of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Claire Arnote Richard Packer of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Ms. Madelene Alexandra Tennant of Houston, Texas; and Mrs. Allyn Elizabeth Wherry of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Paul Gregory Hughes of Austin, Texas, served his brother as Best Man.

Rebecca is a graduate of St. John’s School in Houston, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. Scott is a graduate of Westwood High School in Austin, Texas, and received a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University.

Rebecca is employed as a Regional Administrator with Houston Methodist. Scott is employed as a Civil Engineer with Woolpert.

Following a wedding trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple will reside in Houston.
