There was no weekly luncheon for Rotary this past week but instead there was lots of hard work, good food and goody bags, enjoyment of the great San Saba golf course, and competitive golf games!
Sponsors for the tournament included many local businesses whose support helped raise about $18,000 for spring scholarships for graduating seniors from San Saba ISD, Cherokee, and Richland Springs ISDs. Thanks to the many generous sponsors! A complete list of sponsors will be available next week!
Aleck Newby, whose organization, hard work, and dedication, together with his helpers from Rotary, caused a successful golf tournament! Accolades to Aleck and his team of helpers!
The tournament was made up of 13 teams and 51 players. The team led by Rotary member and secretary, Jacqueline Carlson, won the Rotary prize. More information will be available to San Saba readers next week as final numbers come in.
