Everyone is invited!

All citizens interested in educators, education, Proposition 9 (COLA), retired or not, are welcome to an informative meeting to be held Tuesday, October 3rd, at First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas. The meeting will take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the church's Fellowship Hall.

Because San Saba County and some other surrounding counties do not have a local Retired Teacher Association chapter, this meeting is open to everyone. You don't have to be a teacher or a retired teacher to attend.

Tim Lee, Executive Director of Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA), will be the guest speaker at this monthly meeting of the Lampasas County RTA.

The purpose of the meeting is so the public can be informed about the upcoming election. Families and Friends of educators need to have the most updated information on Proposition 9.

Because light refreshments will be served from 10-10:30 a.m., just prior to the meeting, please RSVP if you will be in attendance. RSVP with the number of persons in your party to lcrta.2023@gmail.com.

Editor's note: COLA stands for Cost of Living Increase. Explanation of Proposition 9 as well as other propositions on the ballot can be found in this week's edition. Look for the Full-Page list on Page 12 titled: Explanatory Statements for the November 7, 2023 Constitutional Amendment Election.
