Armadillo JV Football Report

Dillo J.V. Defeat Eldorado 29-18.

San Saba’s Junior Varsity defeated the Eldorado Eagles by a score of 29-18 last Thursday night in Eldorado. It was a close game for a while. The Dillo Defense was dominant against the run game. We gave up a few big plays in the passing game.

Eldorado kicked to San Saba to start the game. Graden Lebow made a couple of good runs. Luke Thorpe broke for 60 yards behind the blocking of Adam Matthews, Omar Landeros and Danny English. Kaylub Roberts ran for five. Graden Lebow ran in for the first Dillo score. The P.A.T. failed. 6-0 Dillos.

After the kick off, Lebow, Jason Everett, and Kaylub Roberts led the Dillo Defense and forced a turnover. The San Saba drive stalled due to a fumble.

The second quarter began with the Eagles in possession. Jack Stewardson, Jason Everett, Luke Thorpe, Diego Vega, Jayden Aguirre, Jacob Bourke, Carson Murphy, Rauil Solis, and Dawson Crawford shut the run down. Eldorado scored on fourth down on a pass. The P.A.T. try failed. 6-6 at halftime.

In the third quarter, San Saba kicked to Eldorado. The Dillo Defense of Danny English, Ryan Lemaster, Andre Martinez, Ryton Morgan, Adam Matthews, Jonathan Garcia, and Preston Gray forced an Eagle punt. Jason Everett ran for 20 yards and then runs of 8 and 10 yards. Luke Thorpe passed to Preston Gray who made a great catch, broke a tackle and went 40 yards to a touchdown. Graden Lebow ran in the extra point try behind blocks of Crawford and Martin Macias. 14-6 Dillos.

San Saba kicked to Eldorado. Ryton Morgan made a great tackle on the kickoff. Eldorado score on the first play on a 60-yard pass play. The P.A.T. try failed. 14-12 Dillos.

The Eagles kicked to San Saba. Jacob Bourke had a good return. A pass from Thorpe to Gray netted five yards. Thorpe ran for 20 yards. Everett raced 20 yards to a Dillo score. Dawson’s kick was good. 21-12 Dillos.

After the kickoff, the Dillo Defense stopped the Eagle run game. Dawson Crawford, Kaylub Roberts, Jayden Aguirre, Anthony Garcia, Andres Davila, Rodolfo Valdez, Jonathan Garcia, Ulices Mendoza, and Rodrigo Macedo aided in the defensive stop. After an incomplete pass, Thorpe ran for 15 yards, Everett 10. Pass from Thorpe to Gray went to the two-yard line after pass interference. Jason Everett scored from the two. Thorpe added the extra points on a great run. 29-12 Dillos.

The Eagles scored late in the fourth quarter on a fourth-down pass play. The P.A.T. try failed to end the scoring. 29-18 Dillos.

The J.V. Dillos begin district play in Hamilton Thursday night.
